Getaway to Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Updated: Jul 8, 2021

Four Seasons Costa Rica Beach

I chose to visit the three major resorts in Guanacaste: The Four Seasons, The Andaz, and El Mangroove. I selected these resorts because our clients receive exclusive VIP perks and complimentary amenities at all of them.

I landed in Liberia (LIR) after dark and was quickly whisked away by a representative from the Four Seasons to a fully loaded SUV for the forty minute drive to the resort. Upon arrival I was given a small coconut welcome drink and taken to my room. I awoke to a spectacular day.

I loved the fresh feeling of the renovations, and I especially enjoyed having a fully screened in porch. But I didn’t come to Guanacaste to sit in my room; I came for the beach.

One of my favorite things about this resort is that they have two beaches that are divided by the pool area. For both pools and beaches, there is one of each for activities and families, and there is one of each for quiet and adults.

Far before I was ready, it was time to leave for the Andaz. Luckily, I was able to take internal shuttle service for Papagayao Resorts instead of having to take a taxi. The shuttle service is complimentary, and similar to what you might be familiar with at the Mayakoba resorts in Riviera Maya.

I spent the day exploring the resort which is perched on a hill overlooking the bay, visiting the beach club, and finished the afternoon in the adult’s only pool.

My room was on the first floor of the building, and the decor was eco-minimalist with a Costa Rican twist. I loved the huge shower.

I left bright and early the next day for my last night in Costa Rica at El Mangroove, which is located across the peninsula from the Andaz.

El Mangroove is a small intimate resort that is easy to get around. The decor is contemporary with a bit of Costa Rican flair. The beach and pool area is paradise for those who prefer a”feet in the sand” experience with a fun vibe.

It was a short, but sweet, first trip to Costa Rica.
